The trek takes us through Chandrakhani Pass, one of the best in the world, which grants us a gorgeous view of Parvati Valley and Hanuman Tibba. Before we enter the Parvati valley we explore the Malana glacier and Malana Village, the mystic land, which follows its own culture, traditions and language.
Lower altitude, and hence less chalenging than the Chandrakhani pass trek. Enjoy a campfire at Matin, an alpine meadow surrounded by forests of deodar, pine, walnut and chestnut. Friendly Pini village, over Suraj jot, enjoys an unsurpassed view down the narrow Parvati valley. The sound of the river here is like a song.
This journey combines jeep safari with trekking as you move your trekking base camp around with jeeps to afford access to some of the most spectacular scenery in all the Himalayas.
Drive over the Rhotang and Kunzum passes, camping along the way, you will enjoy the most dramtic change in scenery as you travel form lush green Kullu to the austere and barren Spiti.
Trekking from Batal you could explore the Bara Shingri glacier (3657m), one of the biggest in Asia, or the Daga glacier, known for it's spectacular views. Regardless; you will not have words to describe the heavenly colours of the glacial formations. Camping at the clean blue Chandra Tal lake (4270m) affords access to Baralacha pass, as well as wildlife spotting opportunities. Perhaps a herd of Himalayan Ibex, or a lone, rare snow leopard.
Over Kunzum pass, you will explore the highest inhabited village in the world - Kibber, Langza - where you can find fascinating fossils, monastaries such as Ki, Dankur and Tabo. The route you take is always variable, a loop can be made vai Kinnaur to take in the Sangla valley, Sarahan and Rampur. Return to either Naggar or Shimla.
Follow in the footsteps of British explorer Sir Louis Dane, who discovered this route in 1884. This is a real wilderness trek in India, most of the ground covered is uninhabited. The Pin Parvati pass (5400m) itself is a beautiful plateau giving you spectacular views into Spiti. Gaze upon the Tibetan plateau, cross glaciers, experience high alpine meadows, bath in the hot springs at Khirganga and rest at the scenic Mantalai lake.
You will trek a long, challenging route from Manikaran in the Parvati valley all the way up to Sagnam and Mud village in Spiti. Please note that this route can only be traversed safely between late June and mid October.
